Who we are
Farmmetric is a free farm crew app for farmers of all types (vegetables, fruit, row crops, nursery, livestock, anything grown), for their crops, fields, tasks, harvests, lots and records. It runs at myfarmmetric.com and as an Android app on Google Play, listed under the developer name "Sattva Labs". It is made and run by Sattva Technologies LLC, a Massachusetts company ("we", "us"). Farmmetric is powered by Samana, our manufacturing and resource planning software.
Your Farmmetric account is a Samana account
When you sign up for Farmmetric, we set up a company for your farm in Samana's database. Your farm, fields, crew and records are kept there. You don't see Samana and you don't pay for it. Farmmetric shows your crew their tasks from your farm's schedule, and what they record goes back onto that schedule. If you later choose to use Samana, your records are already there. Samana's Privacy Policy covers the same records; this page explains what Farmmetric adds.
What we collect
- Your account: name, email address and password. Your password is kept by our sign-in provider in a form we cannot read.
- Your farm: farm name, state, field and site names, a permit or license number if you enter one, and an address or map location if you enter one.
- What your crew records: work finished, hours, how much got done, work added from the field, problem reports, harvest lots and their weights, storage and drying readings, plant and row labels, notes, photos you attach, and who did what.
- Your team: names, email addresses, roles, skills and hours that a farm admin enters.
- Location, only if you allow it: when you tap "Use where I am" on a problem report, or record work in a field, the app can save where your phone was (latitude, longitude and how accurate it was) with that record, so the farm knows where in the field it happened. It is saved only with that record, never tracked in the background, and never shared outside your farm.
- Weather, only if you tap it: the “Weather” link opens a forecast for your farm’s town on Google’s website, in a new tab. Google then receives that search under its own privacy policy. Farmmetric itself fetches and keeps no weather.
- Camera, only when you use it: to scan a label or take a photo you choose to attach. Scans are read on your phone; only photos you attach are uploaded.
- Records saved with no signal: if you record something with no signal, it waits on your phone marked "not sent yet" and is sent as soon as there is a connection.
- Technical records: your sign-in is kept on your phone or browser so you stay signed in. Our hosting and database providers keep standard server logs (IP address, time, page asked for) for security.
- Error reports: when a screen breaks, the app sends us and Sentry the error message, which screen it was on and your browser type. What you typed, amounts and names are taken out first.
What we never do
- Sell your information.
- Show ads or share your information for advertising.
- Use tracking tools that follow you across other apps or websites.
- Track your location in the background.
How we use it
- To run Farmmetric: save your farm's records and show them to the people on your farm allowed to see them.
- To send the emails you ask for, such as team invitations and record files you send to yourself or your state.
- To keep Farmmetric secure and fix problems.
- To answer you when you contact us.
- To send occasional emails from Pat at Farmmetric about Farmmetric and Samana, and offers of building services from Sattva Technologies, each with a one-click way to stop them.
Who can see your farm's records
- People on your farm, by the role your farm admin gives them. Each farm's records are kept apart from every other farm's, and the database itself enforces it.
- If your farm chooses to use Samana, the people your owner invites there see the same records.
- A small number of Sattva staff, only to run the service, keep it secure, or help when you ask. Each time one of us opens a farm's records, it is recorded.

Deleting your account
You can delete your account in any of three ways:
- In the app: Settings, then Delete my account.
- On the web: myfarmmetric.com/delete-account.
- By email to support@myfarmmetric.com from the email on your account.
We delete your sign-in and personal details within 30 days, including from the copy described under How long we keep it. Your farm's records belong to your farm and stay with it, because farms often must keep them for their state. If you are the farm admin, you can ask us to delete the whole farm and everything in it, except anything the law requires us to keep.
How long we keep it
- Your account and your farm's records: while your farm uses Farmmetric. When a farm is deleted, we keep a copy of its records (fields, plantings, tasks, harvests, yields, hours, inputs used) for up to 3 years to improve our estimates, with the people taken out: names, emails and phone numbers, the street address (only the town and state stay) and photos. The copy is private and encrypted, and used only in totals that name no one.
- Backup copies: encrypted and kept for up to 7 years, then deleted. Something you delete stays in older copies until then, and is deleted again if a copy is ever restored.
- Server logs: on our providers' own schedules, normally within 30 days.
- A free farm with no sign-in for 12 months may be closed after 30 days' notice by email.
Security
Everything sent between you and Farmmetric is encrypted. The database checks every request against your farm and your role. No system is perfectly secure. Keep your password private and tell us right away if you think someone else has used your account.
Children
Farmmetric is a work tool for farms and is for people 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can see and correct most of your information in the app. You can ask for a copy, a correction or deletion at support@myfarmmetric.com. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under local law. We will honour them.
Changes to this policy
We will post any new version here with a new date. If a change is important, we will tell farm admins by email or in the app before it takes effect.
